INTRODUCTION:
This website was designed for a Davis Honor's Challenge Honor's Contract in conjunction with Anthropology 151. The goal of
this project was to design a website investigating primate dental evolution. To fully understand primate evolution, one must
have a firm understanding of the evolution of dentition among the primates. Teeth are rich in the fossil record, genetically
controlled, and give us information on social structures, diet, taxonomy, age, etc. Throughout the process of this project
I have gained an appreciation for the complexity of teeth, and how small changes in the morphology can have drastic changes
in the function. This website gives a broad overview of dental evolution among animals that share our ancestry, the primates.
Because dental evolution is such a broad topic, this website only focuses on living primates.
